Donating to an SGO

Frequently Asked Questions About Donating to an SGO

A Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that receives contributions from donors and grants educational scholarships to eligible students in Ohio. Individuals and entities that contribute to SGOs participating in the program can receive a tax credit.

Remember, if you are married and filing jointly and you want to make a donation of over $750 to be applied toward your Ohio tax liability, then you will have to make separate donations. The limit is capped at $750 per individual so make sure to make separate donations in each of your names.
